By default Parker Automation Manager has hundreds of devices pre-installed in its device repository saving users times of finding these files or getting them from the device manufacturers and installing them. If the current version of Parker Automation Manager software doesn't have the device type loaded, users can install into the Device Repository which is a database of the different manufacturers devices.

After locating the device descriptor files (commonly .xml), they can be installed in Parker Automation Manager through Tools > Device Repository. Set Location to System Repository and then use Install...  Set Files of Type: to All supported description files and then navigate to the file and click Open.

Within the project, users can right-click on the PAC320 EtherCAT Master and Add Device...

And Add Device, one per each device used in the system. Note! The order of these devices is important. Users can drag and drop these in the device to set the order correctly.

This example shows the new low cost Parker P series EtherCAT servo drive. This descriptor file is now included in Parker Automation Manager software, starting with version 1.2.1
