"The ARP entry addition failed: 5"

This error message is displayed when attempting to manually ARP the 6K Ethernet address in Windows NT and 2000.

User must be logged in as Administrator or as user with administrator privileges to ARP or change workstation TCP/IP settings.

Although not the preferred setting, use NTFEN1 to avoid having to statically map (ARP-S) the Ethernet address.

When using NTFEN1, it is recommended that you isolate the 6K from the rest of the network for security purposes.
