For high cycling of short strokes (less than half pitch or half the electrical cycle) the Trilogy motors should be derated by 30% (multiply coil force by .7). This is because of the lack of air moving over the coil significantly decreases the heat dissipation by forced convection. However, if force cooling the motor with the air cooled (AC) or liquid cooled (LC) there would not be a performance derate necessary.
For light loads and low accuracy requirements, a voice coil motor may be a better choice.
