PAC340 - EtherCAT - Extender & Bus Coupler Requirements

PAC340 - EtherCAT - Extender & Bus Coupler Requirements

The PAC340 can utilize either X4 (front LAN) port OR the e-bus (side connector) for EtherCAT. Only one of these at a time for EtherCAT connections, not both.

EtherCAT on the e-bus (X9): By default, PAC340 uses the e-bus as EtherCAT. PACIO can connect directly to that e-bus without modification or accessory requirements. For connecting EtherCAT drives or to a remote I/O node the PACIO-400-02 Extender module is required. This connects to the e-bus and allows two 'Out' ports for RJ45 EtherCAT network configuration. If you are using a Remote I/O node, you will also need the PACIO-400-00 Bus Coupler module for the RJ45 connection.

EtherCAT on the X4 front-port (X4): The front X4 port can be configured for EtherCAT. This disables the e-bus (X9). X4 connects out to the EtherCAT network, either directly to drives or a remote I/O node by adding the PACIO-400-00 Bus Coupler (for the RJ45 connection).
