IP Rating
PM-DDx direct drive motors are IP40 rated.
PM-Fxx rotary motors are IP67 rated
Rating does not apply to shaft opening. The IP rating for attached reducers is not guaranteed. Product may not qualify for IP rating if reducers are attached or cables are bent beyond designated specifications.
Temperature Sensors
PM and PM-DD motors do not include hardware temperature sensors of switches. The drive uses the motor's electrical characteristics and uses a thermal model to predict the motor's temperature and will shut-off power to the drive if it determines the motor is overheating.
Encoder Specifications
P Series rotary and direct drive motors include BiSS-C absolute encoders. BiSS is an open-source protocol employing a digital serial communications to drives and controllers.
Parker P-Series and IPA servo drives support BiSS feedback. P-Series motors have been successfully deployed with many 3rd party servo drives. The information provided below is general sufficient to configure drive settings for P Series encoders.
