Gearhead Replacements - Upgrading from Stealth Gen I to Stealth Gen II

The improved Stealth Gen II (2nd generation) gearheads are virtually 'drop-in' replacements for the obsolete Stealth Gen I line, with only slight dimensional changes to less significant features (pilot depth, etc.). The Gen II offers full compatibility with Gen I which means there is no need for you to worry about differing shaft sizes, mounting, or gearhead orientation.

The Stealth Gen II Gearheads offer performance enhancements:

Higher (2x) radial load capacities
Increased (2x) service life
Universal mounting kits
2-year warranty (increase from 1 year on Gen I)
One oil fill level for any orientation*

*As a result the orientation designation in the part number is no longer necessary. For example, PS90-010-SH ("H" for Horizontal Orientation) is now PS90-010-S2 ("2" for all Gen II Gearheads).

This re-design also incorporates a simplified motor mounting kit design, allowing for quicker deliveries and the use of universal mounting kits across multiple Stealth product lines (within the same frame size). The new series (designated MU), replaces the Gen I mounting kits and often has the same 3-digit suffix. For example, MT90-001 is now MU90-001. This new MU90-001 will fit the same motor to the Stealth Gen II 90mm gearheads: PS90, PX90, PX34, RS90, RX90, and RX34.

Note that Stealth Gen I PS used the MT mounting kits, the PX used the MX mounting kits, and the right-angle RS and RX used the MZ mounting kits. These are all replaced by the MU mounting kits for Stealth Gen II. This chart shows which MU replaces the old kit:

Note some Stealth gearheads have the ratio in the mounting kit part number. For example, MT60-010-033 would've been ordered as an MT60-033 (on a 10:1 ratio gearhead). For Stealth Gen II, the MT60-033 is replaced by the MU60-033. For the MT, MX, and MZ mounting kits are the rear half of the gearhead with the rear housing and pinion; the Gen I gearheads cannot ship without the mounting kit.

With the Gen II design, the rear housing plate is part of the gearhead (gold anodized if you're looking at product photos). The Gen II mounting kits include a black anodized adapter flange, bushing, and hardware to fit the adapter to the gearhead, plus the hardware to fit the motor to the adapter. The Gen II mounting kits can be shipped separately from the gearhead and easily changed in the field. If ordered as a second line item to the gearhead, the bushing will already be in the pinion and the adapter flange attached to the gearhead, the hardware to fit the motor to the adapter will be in the box.
