The way to simply and efficiently clone an AC10 is with the 1002-00 module.

The other way to "clone" is if you use the same 1002-00 module as a serial converter to save your AC10 template from/to a drive via DSELite; or with some other RS485 converter. If you require a serial converter, the 1002-00 is advised.

This FAQ assumes you have all of the small components that come with the 1002-00 part number for some potential reasons mentioned below. Parts that come with the 1002-00 part number and information on the module are below:

Important Notes:

  • If the password feature has been enabled on the drive, that will need to be entered in F100 before cloning (copying or loading) is allowed.  If you attempt to clone a drive that is currently under password protection, you will get alarm code Er73 on the drive's display.  If you try to load a cloned config into a drive that is currently under password protection you will also get alarm code Er73 on the drive's display.

  • To use the 1002-00 module as a cloning tool for a 22kw drive or smaller your firmware must be version 2.07 or greater. Parameter F105 is the firmware version. Verify the firmware version of the drive.

  • Several parameters in the drive must temporarily be set to default values (and then changed back to application-dependent values after loading them into the new drive).

  • If your AC10 has a green serial terminal you may connect the module directly into the drive (and the cable can be used to extend it, as shown below, if horizontal space next to the drive is limited). Old models of the IP20 drives, that were less than 22Kw, may not have a green serial port. If this is the case, you will be unable to clone the AC10 module as the other port is only used for external keypad use. You must manually take note of all parameters being used to reprogram your new drive.

  • The module requires +5V: If AC mains is NOT present (to internally provide control voltage) you must supply an external +5V signal with the extension cable and converter piece.

    • You can not plug the USB end into a PC and the other end into the drive to supply +5V (if you plug in the USB side, it will not work as a cloning module).

    • The cable when extended, and a pictorial description for the supply required without AC mains powering the drive are below:

AC10 Port Locations:

  1. [IP20 < 22Kw]

  2. [IP20 > 22Kw]

  3. [All IP66]

Using the tool to clone:

To “COPY” the AC10 drive parameters into the Clone tool: .

  1. Slide the toggle switch into the "Unlock" position located on the side of the module.

  2. Press & hold the COPY ▲button until the drive display shows COPY. This may take 5 seconds. You may let go when you see "COPY".

  3. The C/U LED on the module will turn Red on then off.

  4. When the parameters have been downloaded successfully, the S/F LED will be Green.

If you get an alarm on the keypad showing Er73, password protection is currently enabled on that drive.

To “LOAD” parameters into an AC10 drive:

  1. To copy Motor Parameters set F640 = 0. By default F640 = 1. Motor data is NOT copied. Click the table below to clarify it.

  2. Set the toggle switch to the "Locked" position.

  3. Press the LOAD ▼button. The drives display will show LOAD. This could take up to 10 seconds. You may let go when you see "LOAD"

  4. The C/U LED on the clone tool will turn Red on then go off.

  5. When the parameters have been downloaded successfully, the S/F LED will be Green.

The options when copy/loading Parameters (click for clarity):

If you get an alarm on the keypad showing Er73, password protection is currently enabled on that drive.
