For replacing old HMI panels that had ISA bus cards such as the AB KT card or the Sutherland Schulz SSSD card for Data Highway Plus, it is necessary to use an external converter. ISA slots have not been available for several years in the HMIs.
Interact has an Allen Bradley Data Highway Serial driver that uses the DF1 protocol. There are converters made that are similar to the old Allen Bradley KF and KE modules that take a serial DF1 connection and convert it to the Data Highway Plus "Blue Hose" network.
There is a company named Equustek Solutions that manufactures a Din Rail mounted converter model number DL3500 - DF1 that converts the DF1 (ABDH driver in Interact) to Data Highway Plus (DH+)
Their web address is www.equustek.com
There were other companies rebranding the modules manufactured be Equustek Solutions which are now out of business such as Datalink. There are other manufacturers that you may be able to find that make converters but Equustek I have heard works the best. We have not had one in house but have talked to multiple users and distributors using them successfully.
