There are three types of drive trains that customers can size in Virtual Engineer.

Belt driven actuators are typically used for high speed or long travel applications. They are great in high contamination environments, but offer the least precision performance.

Screw driven actuators offer high thrust forces and relatively smooth motion.  They are more precise than belt drives, but less than linear motors. Depending on the type of screw (lead or ball), speed and duty cycle could be limited compared to other products.

Linear motors offer superior precision performance as well as high acceptation capabilities.  They are the only technology that can provide long travel lengths, high speeds, and high positioning accuracy without compromise.
