RS485 2-Wire Connection to Zeta6nnn

Question: The Zeta6nnn User Guide mentions that RS485 2-wire communication is possible on Port 2 but there is no wiring description or diagram. How do I connect Zeta6nnn device to a RS485 2-wire host?

 

 

Answer: Changing jumper 7 (as described in the User Guide)for 2-wire effectively shorts Rx+ to Tx+ and Rx- to Tx-. If jumper 7 is set for 2-wire protocol, use Tx+ and Tx- only (or Rx+ and Rx- only) as your connection points. Connect Tx+ of the Zeta to the + terminal of the host and connect the Tx- to the - terminal of the host.
