Drive Firmware Versions (Drive Operating System)

    ****   Drive Support Tool version 0.88 is recommended for any firmware updates. Uninstall prior version before installing 0.88

Important Notes - READ ME

In mid-2022, the P Series drive FPGA was changed to a new device and the drive firmware version was updated with a new designation. The letter E was appended to the version number to differentiate firmware used with the newer drives. Beginning with version 2.08 & 2.08E, firmware files are published for both old and new hardware. 

• Older drives (serial number prior to 202204xxxx) can only use firmware WITHOUT the E.

• Newer drives (serial number greater than 202205xxxx) can only use firmware WITH the E. 

• Before updating or downgrading a drive’s firmware, please identify the current version to determine compatibility. The current version can be checked using the Drive Information dialog in Drive Support Tool Software.

  • PD-xxC_EtherCAT_FW_V = PD Network - EtherCAT drive = PD-04C, PD-10C and PD-35C

  • PD-xxP_Indexer_FW_V   = PS Standard - stp/dir drive = PD-04P, PD-10P and PD-35P (a.k.a Pulse drive and Indexer drive)
