Changes to APEX Series (7/97)

With the recent introduction of the Compumotor NeoMetric series servo motors, comes the opportunity to expand the number of motors we offer with the APEX series of servo drives and drive/controllers. In order to expand the capability of the APEX series to include these motors, some changes in the range and function some of of the drive dip switches became necessary.

The changes in the drive dip switches occurred with the following serial numbers:

Model Beginning Serial Number

APEX10 97052700XXX

APEX6151 97052700XXX

APEX20 97073100XXX

APEX40 97073100XXX

APEX6152 97073100XXX

An Addendum (pn 88-016237-01D) has been added to the Users Manual for the APEX10/20/40(pn 88-013904-02A) and APEX615n (pn 88-016418-01A). This Addendum covers in detail the changes to the drive current loop compensation and motor thermal time constant settings. In addition, the addendum covers the motor information needed for configuring an APEX drive or drive/controller to operate the new NeoMetric 70mm and 92mm motors. All units manufactured after the above dates contain the changes in the drive current loop compensation and motor thermal time constant setting, as outlined in the Addendum.
