PSD with Step/Direction Input

The PSD drives can operate from a Step & Direction input when using the Programmable version with the I/O Option Board.

PSD Manager Settings

In PSD Servo Manager, configure the I/O Board

  1. Encoder Mode = Encoder Input

  2. Encoder Type = Step/Direction

  3. Resolution = 10000 incr/rev

  4. Setpoint Control Mode = Encoder position

These settings are stored in this config file and can be imported into PSD Manager

Complete the rest of the settings in PSD Manager including motor selection and download to the drive.

Note that the S/D encoder input resolution considers step rising and falling edge (2-fold) acquisition (=2 counts per S/D period). The GearIn Denominator is set =2. This allows the user to match the output resolution of the controller to match the input resolution set in PSD Manager in step 3 above.
