Desat (Over I) Fault

DSAT (OVER I) frequently means something shorted on the output. The manual in product will point to 'overcurrent' for additinal sanity checks. After going through 'Overcurrent' for the respective product, see below:

  • Try taking the motor leads loose and running the drive in V/Hz mode. If it still trips, there is a problem on the IGBT bridge.

  • If it does not trip, then it is likely one of the following is true:

    • There is a short in the motor (phase to phase, or phase to ground/case)

    • There is a breakdown of the motor or motor wiring insulation (You would probably need to use a 1000-Volt megger to check for an insulation breakdown)

    • There could also be a problem with one or more of the LEM modules on the drive
