Xware 5.1 with Windows

XWare 5.1 is compatible with Windows 98; however, some people may see a problem.

THE PROBLEM:
As soon as XWare 5.1 sends a signal to the Controller, XWare locks up. There are two places where this can happen.

  1. Entering the terminal. As soon as the terminal opens, XWare locks.

  1. Using the Port Checkout function under Terminal Settings. As soon as this button is pushed, XWare locks.

To get out of this, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and End Task on XWare.

THE SOLUTION:
XWare 5.1 is a DOS-based terminal emulator. It can still be run under a DOS environment. Reboot the computer into DOS and run XWare 5.1 from there.

There is also a new version of XWare. XWare 6.02 (or later) is a Windows based software that is compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
