VS Motors - Wiring and Currents
Please read the FAQ titled Stepper Motor Current Settings, which contains very important details on how our motor currents are derived and what operating conditions must be met!
VS Motors with Zeta Series, OEMZL Series, S Series, E-AC, Gemini GT Series, or any 170 VDC bus voltage drive
Wiring diagrams and motor current values can be found in the E-AC Hardware Installation Guide and E-AC Quick Reference Guide. The motor current values in these guides apply to any Parker drive that utilizes a 170 VDC bus voltage.
NOTE: When configuring the Gemini GT Drive, the motor current values in the Gemini Setup Wizard of Motion Planner are correct and should always be used!!!
VS Motors with OEM750 Series, E-DC, or any 75 VDC or less bus voltage drive
Wiring diagrams and motor current values can be found in the E-DC Hardware Installation Guide and E-DC Quick Reference Guide. The motor current values in these guides apply to any Parker drive that utilizes a 75 VDC or less bus voltage.
NOTE: These current values are for parallel wiring only. In order to get a reasonable performance out of the motor, we require the parallel connection. However, with the parallel connection, we are only allowed the standard 50 % duty cycle (move time vs standstill time).
VS Motors with ViX Stepper Series, PD Series, or any Digiplan marked drive. The VS motor wiring and current settings for the ViX Stepper Series are located in the ViX Stepper User Guide. Please use the current settings that are set in the Guided Drive Setup Utility of the EASI-V software. The PD Series has a bus voltage of 70 VDC, so please refer to the E-DC guide as directed above for motor current values and consult the ViX Stepper User Guide for the wiring. For all other Digiplan products, please first consult the user manual to determine the bus voltage. If the bus voltage falls into the following two ranges (170 VDC or 24-75VDC) please use the motor current values from the appropriate section above. Again, please consult the ViX Stepper User Guide for proper wiring.
NOTE: The former Digiplan designed drives used a different motor phasing scheme than the Compumotor designed phasing scheme. Therefore, this was handled by swapping the wire colors for B+ and B- from the standard Compumotor phase/wire color scheme. Thus, this swap is documented in the ViX Stepper User Guide.
