OEM350/OEM650 Product Change Notification

Compumotor redesigned the OEM350/650 Series to combine the two products into one and incorporate new technology and features. With this redesign, Compumotor decided to change the name of the products from OEM350 and OEM650 Series, to OEM750 Series.

What's New in the OEM750 Series
Anti-resonance--The OEM750 Series incorporates a subset of the electronic damping circuitry used in the highly acclaimed ZETA Drive (1995 Design News Product of the Year). This feature suppresses oscillations from mid-range instability allowing the user to fully utilize of the capabilities of step motors.
Loop Gain Compensation--Since the OEM750 Series often operated with motors having a wide range of winding inductances at a voltage ranging from 24 to 75 VDC, Compumotor incorporated current loop gain techniques to optimize motor performance. The loop gain adjustment is designed to maximize your system?s (drive, motor, voltage) performance. Control over the current loop gain allows customers to take better advantage of the motor?s available torque while reducing audible noise and excessive heating in the motor. This gives users more motor choices and allows them to pick the best motor for their application. The default setting provides the user with the same loop gain value used in the OEM650 Series, therefore providing equivalent performance.Higher Reliability--Compumotor?s design engineers developed a new ASIC for the OEM750 Series and added more robust FETs, which significantly reduces the drives internal temperature.
Broader Current Range--The OEM750 Series can output 0.15A - 7.5A (peak) from one product.
Larger Motor ConnectorThis new feature makes it easier to wire and install the OEM750 Series.

Compumotor replaced the OEM350/650 Series with the OEM750 Series as of December 2, 1997. The OEM750 Series is completely backwards compatible with existing OEM350 and OEM650 applications. The OEM750 Series has the same footprint (dimensions) and mounting slots as its predecessors. The OEM750 Series also uses the same wiring configuration, drive set-up procedures, current setting resistors, and indexer board as the OEM350 and OEM650 Series. The cosmetic difference between the products is that the OEM750 Series features mini DIP switches instead of jumpers. This change was incorporated based on a request from our customers. The OEM750 Series has earned UL recognition and the CE (Conformite European) Mark for the Low Voltage Directive (LVD). The OEM750 Series is a direct replacement product and is offered at the same price as the OEM350 and OEM650 Series.

Please use the following table to cross reference the new and old part numbers. As of December 3, 1997, you will need to order the OEM750 Series part number instead of the OEM350/650 Series.
