AC650 Series (Discontinued)
The AC650 series is obsolete. It was an AC drive product tailored to V/Hz and Sensorless Vector operation. It was originally from the late 90s and it was subsequently replaced by the combined might of performance enhanced, modern products. Full obsolescence occurred in 2016 with the 650 Family Obsolescence Bulletin.
These drives are no longer supported unless assistance is required to migrate to a modern product. Your local Parker Distributor/Integrator can assist with modern product implementation. Below is [non-proprietary] information that Parker EMN has on these products to act as a database.
650 Series
All variants (including V, G, S) have been obsoleted as of November 9th, 2016.
Unique variants of the third digit (65x) are also not available
650 – “Original” drive. Operated in V/Hz mode only.
650V – “Vector” drive had sensorless vector control built in (in addition to V/Hz mode).
650G – Was a 650V drive in almost every aspect, but with performance enhancement traits tailoring it to China’s target market at the time. Primarily operated at slower speeds.
650S – “Servo” was capable of sensorless vector PMAC control. Originally out of Europe.
Information was/is limited for this variant in North America. Support was limited in the US then, and is no longer available now.
65x – “Unique” variants such as the “652-“. Originally out of Europe.
Documentation denoting these variants is limited in North America. Many were, and remain, proprietary to Parker Europe (EME) or their customers. Support was limited in the US then, and is no longer available now.
Product Code Breakdown
Product code breakdowns can be found in the manuals. For the sake of quick reference, we have the following snippets for most of the product codes over the years.
You may have a European part number (ie: 650-XXYYYYZZ-AAA…). The manuals and above snippets will breakdown these codes without issue. For deciphering these however we also have the following document to assist with quick reference for your 650’s power, amperage, and voltage ratings; as well identifying additional options your original 650 may have to assist in migrating to a modern product. [This document also denotes other European part numbers for other families as well].
Replacements
There is no drop-in replacement for the 650 family.
Advisement: Please see this FAQ for replacement paths. Your local Parker Distributor/Integrator can assist with modern drive implementation.
Spare Parts: There are no spare parts available for the series.
Variant Backup: If you already have a 650 drive on standby, and it happens to be a different variant than the one you're using then there is a chance your original configuration can be placed into the replacement using DSELite. This is not supported, as a migration to a modern product is advised.
Project and Firmware compatibility: 650 Series - Project and Firmware Compatibility
650V Drive will accept 650G templates – Some parameters may need to be reconfigured
650G Drive will accept 650V templates – Some parameters may need to be reconfigured
See below in “Software Info” for DSELite download and additional firmware notes.
Product Manuals and Info
Note: The manuals are major firmware dependent as more parameters and some functionality were added to later major revisions.
Note: Manuals are also variation specific.

Software / Firmware Info
Software information can be found within the respective software environment’s help files. Any of the following software may have been used with your drive.
CELite - OBX software. No longer supported.
CE - OBX software. No longer supported.
DSELite– Modern (free) software used to communicate to current products if not an old LINK product.
Help files can be found when you right click any function block.
DSELite can flash firmware on a 650, but it must be within the same major revision.

Important Software Notes:
You could not load different major revisions of firmware into other major revisions of drives due to hardware constraints (If your drive was originally v3, you could not download v5 firmware into it).
Earlier revisions of templates may be migrated and installed into recent revisions of firmware. Although the software may throw warnings, and although we do not support the process, it is possible if your program was not robust. We advise testing overall functionality of the machine before operation when taking an older template version and placing it into later revisions of firmware (ie in a swap-out scenario and the replacement is later firmware).
Legacy Appnotes
These are some Appnotes from internal servers. They are no longer supported. They are included for the sake of legacy information ONLY.
Miscellaneous Information
Much of this information can be found in the manuals. They are included here for legacy reference only and are no longer supported.
This includes 2D dimensional drawings, wiring diagrams for default templates, internal parameter connection diagrams for software, calibration steps, quick-starts, etc.
