Gearhead Customization - Standard Customizations for Gearheads Intended for Vacuum Environments

Products intended for low-pressure environments must be built to withstand the typically large-pressure differentials and outgassing common to these environments. If you would like a gearhead designed for vacuum environments you can request a "V01" modification on the standard model. For example, if you would like the PS90-010-S2, you can request a quote for the PS90-010-V01S2. This customization includes the following modifications:

• Remove shaft seals

• Use Krytox 240 grease in place of the standard oil

• Remove all labels and laser or mechanically etch only

• Vented, stainless hardware

• Use lock washers in place of Loctite

Although our gearheads that are designed for vacuum environments are not specifically vacuum-rated, they follow best engineering practices and have successfully been used in environments down to 10^-6 Torr.
