Why Is My AC Motor Running Hot?
MOTOR CONNECTIONS:
Make sure the motor is rated for inverter-duty.
Make sure the stator is properly connected for the voltage provided by the inverter.
Make sure there are no loose motor connections.
INVERTER SETTINGS:
For SV or Closed-loop Mode, make certain the magnetizing current is not set too high.
b. For V/Hz mode, make sure the boost is not set too high.
RUNNING CONDITIONS:
Is there a Blower on this motor?
Are the blower filters clogged?
Is there free airflow through the motor?
What is the ambient temperature?
Does the motor run below 25% speed for extended periods of time (without forced air cooling)?
Is the motor running with the motor torque >75% for extended periods of time (without forced air cooling)?
