Using the PAC as a Modbus TCP Master Device

ContentBody{} FormattedBody{value='

The attached projects provide a very simple Modbus TCP example where the PAC is configured as the Modbus TCP master and uses an Interact Xpress HMI panel as the Modbus TCP slave device to exchange data.

Select the project that matches your version of Parker Automation Manager:

PAM1.4: PAC_ModbusTCP_Master_XPR_ModbusTCP_Slave_PAM1.4

PAM1.2: PAC_ModbusTCP_Master_XPR_ModbusTCP_Slave_PAM1.2

These notes are included in the above zipped archives, but are posted here as a separate download for convenience: PAC Modbus TCP master to Xpress Modbus TCP slave notes

It is possible to communicate with a number of devices via Modbus. Attached below is a video example covering how to communicate with Parker's AC30 VFD via Modbus from the PAC. Based on the steps in the video, it would be possible to set up the PAC for any Modbus slave device, or use the AC30 with another master.

Alternatively, there is a separate FAQ of the PAC acting as the Modbus TCP slave device here: PAC ModbusTCP Slave
