Gearhead Replacements - Zenith PRN, UTN, VLN, NEN Replacements

For the precision Zenith gearheads, the recommended replacements are:

PRN60 is PS60
PRN92 is PS90
PRN115 is PS115
PRN142 is PS142

UTN60 is PX60
UTN92 is PS90 or PX90
UTN115 is PS115 or PX115
UTN142 is PS142 or PX142

VLN60 is PV60FB
VLN92 is PV90FB
VLN115 is PV115FB or PX115
VLN142 is PX142

 

NEN23 is PV23FE or PX23
NEN34 is PV34FE or PX34
NEN42 is P42FE or PX42

In comparing the torque output of the gearhead, note that the life rating of the Zenith gearheads at catalog torque and speed ratings is not published and unfortunately is not available. Bayside life ratings for the gearheads are published in the catalog pages at the nominal output torque at the rated speed.

Note that the Stealth PS/PX/RS/RX and Value-Line PV gearheads and mounting kits are purchased as separate items:

Example1 - inline 60mm frame:

  1. PV60FB-010.....ValueLine PV gearhead, 60mm metric, Flange Face mount, Bayside dimensions, 10:1 ratio

  2. MV60-047.........Mounting kit

The PV series gearheads use the MV mounting kits. The MV60-047 is the mounting kit for the SM23 motors and MV60-001 is the mounting kit for the BE23 motors.

Note that the PV23 is the PV60 gearhead with NEMA23 output face but the input side is the same and also uses the MU60 mounting kit.
Example2 - inline Stealth 60mm frame:

  1. PX60-010-S2.....Inline Stealth gearhead, 60mm metric, 10:1 ratio, Standard backlash, Gen II

  2. MU60-059.........Mounting kit

The Stealth Gen II PS/PX/RS/RX gearheads use the MU mounting kits.
The MU60-059 is the mounting kit for the SM23 motors and MU60-005 is the mounting kit for the BE23 motors.

Note that the PX23 is the PX60 gearhead with NEMA23 output face but the input side is the same and also uses the MU60 mounting kit.

Example3 - inline 90mm frame:

  1. PV90FB-010.....Inline Valueline, 90mm frame, Flange mount, Bayside face dimensions, 10:1 ratio

  2. MV90-005.........Mounting kit

The MV90-005 is the mounting kit for the BE34 motor.

Example4 - Stealth 90mm frame:

  1. PX90-010-S2.....Inline Stealth, 90mm frame, 10:1 ratio, standard backlash, Gen II

  2. MU90-005.........Mounting kit

The MU90-005 is the mounting kit for the BE34 motor.

Note that the PX34 is the PX90 gearhead with NEMA34 output face but the input side is the same and also uses the MU90 mounting kit.

When ordered together in the same order as consecutive line items, the mounting kit will be attached to the gearhead and bushing inserted inside the pinion. Hardware to fit the motor to the adapter is also provided.
