UNABLE TO RE-CONNECT TO ACR ...
Unable To Connect To ACR Controller After Abnormal Program Termination
When application software that communicates through the ComACRsrvr abnormally terminates, the communications to the product is not closed properly. It is necessary to manually shut down the ComACRsrvr processes to allow reconnection of the communication with the device.
The ACR-View software package makes use of an out-of-process communication server called the ComACRsrvr. The ComACRsrvr consists of up to four different applications that are used depending upon the type of communication that is currently being used.
Comm Type | ComACRsrvr File |
---|---|
RS-232 | SerSrvr2.exe |
Ethernet | NetSrvr2.exe |
PCI/ISA | BusSrvrAcr.exe |
USB | USBSrvrAcr.exe |

Since it is possible to be communicating to multiple ACR controllers when using the ComACRsrvr, it is necessary to manually shut down each of the communication processes through the Windows Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL).
Once all of the processes have been shut down, ACR-View or your application software can be re-opened and communication re-established.
Note: An additional Process that can be terminated before re-opening ACR-View is the PLC Ladder Editor (AcrPLCServer.exe). It is not necessary to end this Process.
