How do I use the ACRXPC.OCX Control?

Please note: ACRXPC.OCX and the ACR driver run *only* on Windows NT and *only* support non-Plug-and-Play ISA controller cards (ACR2000 and ACR1500). These components do not provide the full functionality of the Acroloop product line and are not recommended for new development. The feature set is frozen and the components are not scheduled for upgrade.

Integrators are strongly encouraged to use the full API provided by ACROWNT.DLL and the ACR8K driver. Applications using the ACROWNT.DLL API will use any of the Acroloop controller cards, and will run on Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 2000. Windows XP support is scheduled for mid-2003.

The ACRXPC.OCX control requires the use of the lightweight ACR driver. This driver is not enabled by default. To use this driver, open the Control Panel and then open the Devices applet. Locate the ACR8K driver in the list, highlight it and stop it. Then select 'Startup' and change the startup mode to 'Manual'. Locate the ACR driver in the list and start it. Select 'Startup' and change the startup mode to 'Automatic'. After this operation, the ACR driver will run by default, and the ACRXPC.OCX control should function. Note that AcroView PC-Bus and the sample VB application will *not* operate while the ACR driver is in use.
