What is Needed with Various Parker I/Os?

CONNECTING POWER TO BUS COUPLER
When using a PIO337, there are two separate connections for 24VDC supplies. The “24V” and “0V” provides the logic power for the CANopen bus coupler and the I/O modules. The two “+” and two “-“ connections provide the “field power” or “bus power” for the modules, this provides the 24VDC I/O power for devices connected to the digital I/O modules.

When using the PIO347, only a single power connection is available and that is for the logic supply. To connect the bus power, a PIO 602 will also need to be used in conjunction with Digital I/Os. If you are using a 2- or 4-input digital input or output module, then you can land the 24V bus power on the middle terminals. The 24V connection would go to connectors 2 or 6, the 0V or “24V RTN” connection would go to connectors 3 or 7.

CONNECTING I/O MODULES TO BUS COUPLER
Placement of the I/O modules matters greatly due to the “power contacts” on the sides of some of the I/O modules. There are blade contacts and spring contacts on the digital modules to pass the 24VDC field bus power to the next unit. Since the analog modules do not need the 24VDC for their operation they do not have these contacts. Some units have three contacts of each, some have two contacts of each, others have no contacts. Refer to the appropriate bus coupler documentation for installation information.
We recommend placing digitals I/O modules closest to the bus coupler then the Analog I/O modules. Modules may be placed in any configuration, but either a PIO602 or 24VDC will be needed to provide BUS voltage to the rest of the Digital I/Os.

TERMINATION MODULES
Both the PIO337 and the PIO347 need a PIO600 termination module.
