General - Minimum Temperature of the Servo Motors
The minimum operating temperature Compumotor Servo motors is as follows
Â
 |
Motor Size | Feedback | Min Temp |
All SM, BE, N, J, M | Resolver | -30°C |
All SM, BE, N, J, M | Encoder | 0°C |
All Integrated Gearheads | Resolver | -25°C |
All MPP Rotary | Encoder or Resolver | 0°C |
All MPM Rotary | Encoder or Resolver | 0°C |
All APEX and Z | Resolver | -20°C |

Custom motors can be ordered that will run at lower temperatures |

The limitiation on the resolver motors is not due to the resolver, but the grease in the bearings. If lower temperatures are needed, a custom motor with lower temperature bearings should be requested. For condensing environments, a protective winding coating or vented motor are available as a custom.
Likewise the limitation on the integrated gearheads is the grease in the bearings.
Minimum/Maximum Storage temperatures:
Minimum is -50c non-condensing.
Maximum is 120c for an encoder feedback.
Maximum is 150c for a resolver feedback.
