Compax3 Software - TCP/IP VIA EPL Hardware (I30)

The Compax3 with I30 Ethernet Powerlink option also supports Ethernet TCP/IP connections.  The Compax3 ServoManager software can be used to configure and tune the C3 with this connection. This is set in the software under Options menu > Ethernet TCP settings (PC < - > C3).

Note the connection will be automatically closed after 30 seconds, if there is no more data received. There are 4 different connections possible.

The C3 ServoManager software default IP address is 192.168.100.1

This presumes the C3's S24-1 dipswitch is ON (S24-2 through 8 are OFF)

The S24 dipswitches are binary weighted for the address bit of the last octect.

ie, if S24-1 and S24-2 are on, the C3 IP address is 192.168.100.3

Compax3 ServoManager port number: 44822
TCP/IP port:  44821

The Interact Xpress driver is not yet released for using ethernet TCP/IP to the Compax3. As standard, the driver supports RS232/RS485 communication.

To set to different IP address:

Turn all the switches on S24 off (left).
For 192.168.0.230, the object 860.3 (IP address) needs to be set to -1062731546
For the subnet of 255.255.255.0, the object 860.5 (Subnet mask) should be set to -256
Requires WF Write to Flash.
Requires cycling power.

192 dec = C0 HEX
168 dec = A8 HEX
0 dec = 00 HEX
230 dec = E6

C0A800E6
In Microsoft's calculator program click = and then +/-, it will give FFFF FFFF 3F57FF1A
Convert 3F57FF1A to decimal (1062731546) and add - in front of it.

Or subtract C0A80036 from FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF  and add 1,it will give FFFF FFFF 3F57FF1A
Convert 3F57FF1A to decimal (1062731546) and add - in front of it.

Note that object 860.3, 860.5, users must click WF in the bottom left of the Optimization screen to Write to Flash to retain after cycling power.

To see these objects in C3 ServoManager:
Type :ro860.3 or :ro860.5 in the bottom left of optimization screen.

Users can gain access to the Object Tree in the bottom right-hand window of the Optimization Screen:

How to View or Monitor any Object in Optimization (Activate Object Tree)

In the Online tab, it'll set the focus, so you don't need to do the :ro and object number, you can just set the value.

Do the WF to write to flash.
Make sure the dipswitches on S24 are all OFF (to the left).
Cycle power.

Then if you do an upload, in the Device selection > Online device identification, scroll down and you can see the IP address:
