How do I set up Parker I/O (PIO)

What is Parker I/O and how do I set it up? 

Parker I/0 is a CAN based product which allows some Parker products to expand I/0 capability for digital inputs, outputs, analog inputs and analog outputs. The Parker I/0 module can be configured using dipswitches that are built into the coupler module. The coupler module controls the communicate speeds and node ID.

The following steps are required to setup the baud rate and node ID on the coupler...

To set the baud rate:
Step 1. Turn off all switches.

Step 2. Power on the coupler.

Step 3. Adjust the baud rate according to table below.

Step 4. Set switch # 8 to on.

Step 5. Switch off the coupler.

To set the node id:
Step 6. Make sure the coupler is off.

Step 7. Adjust node id by setting appropriate switches

Step 8. Turn on coupler

ACR 9000 Setup
In the Configuration Wizard, under CANOpen Master Setup, do the following:

  1. In the Master Node ID box, select the address you want to assign the controller.

  1. In the Bit Rate (kbps) box, select the bit rate used in the network.

  1. In the Cyclic Period (ms) box, enter the cyclic period for the network.

  1. Under CANOpen Slave Setup, do the following:

  1. In the Number of Slave Nodes box, select the number of nodes in the network.

  1. For each slave node, select the address you want to assign.

  1. Click on "Start CANopen Network"

PLEASE NOTE! You do not need to change the master setup. The only setup required is to match your hardware coupler to the default slave settings.
