6K Software - Using the COM6SRVR Without Motion Planner

The commserver that Motion Planner uses to communicate can be installed without installing Motion Planner.

Three files are required:
com6srvr.exe
com6srvr.tlb
gem_motors.mtr

Each of these files must be copied into the Windows/System directory. Then, the com6srvr.exe file must be executed to register it with Windows.

The commserver also uses a couple DLLs to communicate. The DLLs are installed with most Microsoft software packages. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office are two such packages. Both ICMP.DLL and MFC42.DLL are installed by Microsoft and used by the commserver.
