TASX Bit 29 -- ORES Failure

This fault bit will activate if the frequency of the pulse train output from the Gemini drive (defined via the ORES command) exceeds the maximum value allowed by the drive. The following table defines the maximum frequency values:

For Gemini Servo drives:
2.5 MHz post-quadrature encoder frequency

For Gemini Stepper drives:
625 KHz step pulse

This bit can activated under a number of conditions, such as if the ORES value is set too high compared to the ERES value, or if a motor with a high resolution feedback device is being commanded too high a velocity – resulting in the drive frequency limit being exceeded.

REMEDIES:

  1. Reduce the motor velocity or lower the ORES value.

  2. This may also be caused by electrical noise. Check the system installation against the Gemini's EMN Installation guideliness in the Hardware Installation Guide.
