Controller to GV Cables

The Gemini Servo (GV) has several cabling options to go between it and a Controller or Indexer.

FROM A 6K TO A GV, THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS:

  1. 71-016987-10: Analog (+/-10V) cable that provides a command signal to the GV from the 6K and feedback from the GV back to the 6K. This cable has a 50-pin high density cable on the GV end. It splits from there to a 15-pin D-shell connector for the command signal from the 6K and a 9-pin D-shell connector for the feedback back to the 6K. This cable closes the Position Loop at the 6K and the GV Drive can either be in Velocity or Torque Mode.

  2. 71-016966-10: Step & Direction cable that provides a command signal to the GV from the 6K, but no feedback. This allows the GV to close the Position Loop within the Drive itself.

FROM A 6000 SERIES PRODUCT TO A GV:

71-016943-10 50-pin to Flying Leads cable that can be used either with the Servo or Stepper controllers of the 6000 Series. The 71-016966-10 S&D cable that is used for the 6K will not completely work for any 6000 Steppers; the Shutdown pinouts are different, but the command signal pinouts are the same.

FROM A GENERIC CONTROLLER TO A GV, THERE ARE SEVERAL CHOICES:

71-016943-10 50-pin to Flying Leads cable described above can be used.

71-016945-03 50-pin to Breakout Module via 3 foot cable allows a user to use a cable without any connectors by screwing wires into Screw Terminals.

GC-50 50-pin Breakout Connector allows the same capability as the 71-016945-03 Breakout Module described above, but without the 3 foot cable; the Screw Terminals are attached directly to the connector.
