Reset Command in STARTP Program

A RESET command should not be placed in a STARTP program in a GV6 or GT6. The RESET command in a STARTP program causes the GV6/GT6 to enter into an infinite loop. Due to the flash program memory opposed to battery backed program memory, the only guaranteed way to clear this situation is to send the unit in as a RMA.

It may be possible to set up a programmable button in the Motion Planner terminal as "!K:". At this point, it becomes a timing game. Can the command sent by the button execute before the RESET command is executed in the STARTP program? If the "!K:" is executed before the RESET, the STARTP program can be cleared with the STARTP PROG0 command.

As a final thought, a RESET should never be placed in a STARTP program. If this is done, the most probable resolution is to send the GV6/GT6 unit back to Compumotor for repair.
