Gemini GV6 & GT6 RS232 Daisy-Chaining ERRLVL
When connecting the Gemini GV6 and GT6 in a daisy-chain, the ERRLVL command is sent differently depending on the setting of the ASCII command.
Binary Mode
In Binary Mode, the ERRLVL command must be set to 4 for the daisy-chain to function properly. The ECHO command must be set to 1 (on) in all units in the daisy-chain (it may be turned off on the last unit if necessary). Binary mode is active if the ASCII command is set to 0. Older Gemini units were exclusively binary, and did not have an ASCII communications mode (Serial Numbers 02061700000 or smaller)
When addressing the units with the ADDR command, first issue an ECHO0. After the units are addressed, put the ECHO back to 1.
ASCII Mode
In ASCII Mode, the ERRLVL command must be set to 2 for the daisy-chain to function properly. The ECHO command must be set to 1 (on) in all units in the daisy-chain (it may be turned off on the last unit if necessary). ASCII mode is active if the ASCII command is set to 1. Older Gemini units were exclusively binary, and did not have an ASCII communications mode (Serial Numbers 020617xxxxx or smaller)
